Solstice in a silent revelry of the year’s longest day, immersed in the hidden green universe of Essenburgpark under the constellation of the stinging nettle. It brings us together in celebration - around the table sharing food, exploring the park’s hidden pathways through storytelling, or watching @katarinajaz film Speaking in Nettle Hairs, shot in the very park.
𝗙𝗢𝗢𝗗: Eat Your Feelings (Alina Turdean) brings you around the table to eat and cook with nettle. Expect a greenery food-scape inspired by the park’s wild fauna in a mix of foraged & fermented delicacies feat. a contribution from Jack Bardwell
𝗠𝗨𝗦𝗜𝗖 Gilliam Spliethoff leads as a conductor in a collective midsummer music ritual, where we become a summer wind orchestra using our own breathe.
𝗦𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗗 𝗪𝗔𝗟𝗞 Before the screening, at dusk, you’ll be invited to roam the paths of this urban nature reserve through a sound walk designed by Sam Koopman that shares knowledge and mythology surrounding nettles in various cultural contexts.
